A handful of our agents had the opportunity to attend Christie's Luxury Specialist Conference in Washington, D.C. September 22nd and 23rd. This prestigious event was a great opportunity for Chestnut Park to be a part of, and we were thrilled to have some of our agents there. Held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the Christie's International Real Estate 2016 Luxury Specialist Conference attendees received a certificate of designation as a 2016 Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Specialist upon completion. The event allowed agents to network and share ideas with one another from the world's leading real estate network.
The event allowed agents at Chesnut Park to meet people from all over the world and make connections with other key luxury specialists. This was a great opportunity to learn how they do business in their markets, what works from them and also how they use the various online marketing tools Christie's offers to its affiliates. For example, Chestnut Park agent Bente O'Leary met some Manhattan agents who often rely on personal chauffeurs to take them aorund on showings because parking in Manhattan is a nightmare - she sees how this could be useful in Toronto. The luxury education was fascinating and informative as well as delicious (there was wine tasting as well!). The opportunity to learn about the differences in other affiliate markets was also enlightening.
A fabulous speaker with a PH.D in Art History from Columbia was invited to speak to the agents on insightful views on different types of art and how to begin a conversation on art when entering a client's home. This key takeaway is important for luxury realtors, as many of their clients have valuable art collections that are important to them.
Heather Harris and Lauren Walker appreciated the strength of the network, the new C-Suite ( a marketing platform from Christie's created for their affiliates) of services, and the other non-real estate services that were discussed that fall under the Christie's umbrella. They also were pleased to have the Luxury Specialist designation that highlights their connection with Christie's. This is something that they feel sets them apart from other agents when clients are deciding who to work with.
The event proved to be beneficial for agents. Moving forward, the conference will help with our agent's real estate business. Agents are looking forward to the benefits of the networking outcome of the conference. They hope to generate referrals on an international level. We look forward to attending more conferences in the future. Overall, the conference was a wonderful experience both personally and professionally.
